The Gospel Rolls Down Hill

We did it!
We are excited that God has shown us that he wants us in the Big Apple the week of City Uprising. We have committed both spiritually and financially to take the Gospel to New York City. With the deposit down, we are ready for the blessing that will come from all that we are about to do!

Dr. Larry Robertson, senior pastor at Hilldale Baptist in Clarksville told us about how just like water runs down hill, so does the Gospel. If we can reach the major cities of the world, it is only natural that the Gospel will spread to the rest of the country and world.

We have not even marked the dates in our calendar yet and we are already getting such a blessing from this trip. Hannah has been asking many questions about when we will go, why we are going and what we will do when we get there. It has been wonderful to teach her the importance of telling others about Christ's love and how we not only have to tell our friends, but we have to tell people we don't even know.

Of course, I think Hannah is more excited about the airplane ride...who can blame her!

What is City Uprising?

We had a information meeting at church and Bro. Larry talked a lot about City Uprising. Here are a few highlights:

City Uprising is a 4-day missions trip tp NYC. The goal is to bring a commitment to the local church, reach the major cities of the world with the love of Jesus, and to show the city the love of Christ through service to the city.

Why?

"Inspired by Jeremiah 33:9, City Uprising seeks to propel the church and prosper the city. For the first time in history, more people live in urban cities than in rural. If this growth continues, 60% of the American population will live in major cities by 2040. We believe the Church should take notice and move with the trend, bringing people to the city to show the glory of God. City Uprising is a tangible way to show communities service and meet the most immediate needs in restoration, healthcare, and spirituality."

Wendy and I want to be a part of that. Join us as we pray, plan and prosper the city for Christ.

Here We Go!

For about 6 months, Wendy and I have been talking about joining Hilldale Baptist on a mission trip to New York City. We talked about taking Hannah, and what she would be able to do if we decide to go. The Gallery Church in New York City hosts City Uprising and Hilldale sends a team of excited people to help them spread the gospel to the people of New York.

This year, City Uprising wanted to have a more family focus and allow for more families to take to the streets. They will host sports clinics, play dates, and much more.

We felt that this was our chance!
Through prayer, discussions and explaining to Hannah how far away it is and how we will get there, we decided to go!

Please join us in prayer as we spend the next several months preparing for God to work wonders through us and all who are a part of this year's trip.
